Lucas “The Tiger” Glover

In just two short years, Lucas “The Tiger” Glover has had a quick rise within the competitive martial arts circuit. At four-years old, Lucas knew the martial arts scene was for him.

“My mom showed me a video and that’s how we got into it. I was four-years old that April. They usually don’t allow [kids] until they’re six but they asked to give me a shot. They let me in and started me on light stuff”, says Lucas outside of the Hudson / Hawk on East Sunshine in Springfield.

Lucas travels the United States for competitions, attending twenty competitions in 2017 and has visited Arkansas, Michigan, and Illinois in just the past few weeks.

“Not only does Lucas have a competitive spirit, he has a compassionate spirit as well.”

We heard about Lucas through Mac Elliot, a Senior Barber at the shop, who proudly displays a signed Springfield News-Leader article of Lucas next to his station. Mac met Lucas while working a haircut event at a local church about a year ago. Mac has kept Lucas’ signature red mohawk sharp ever since.

Not only does Lucas have a competitive spirit, he has a compassionate spirit as well.

Last October, one of Lucas’s teammates Julia Shipp was hit by an impaired driver and was in severe condition. Even though Lucas has never met Julia, he prays for her health and safety before each match and proudly displays the image of #FightForJulia on his official Facebook page.

We’re proud to know Lucas “The Tiger” Glover and wish him well in his career!
